Established in 1988, the TRTU organises highly-successful media training courses for organisations across the spectrum: Government departments and agencies; leading UK banks and building societies; professional societies and institutions in London and the provinces; blue-chip companies, manufacturers that are household names and a myriad of smaller firms; local authorities -- both officers and elected members; NHS trusts, national sporting bodies, magistrates and firefighters; and staff and volunteers from some of the best-respected charities in the land.

The TRTU trains managing directors, chief executives, company directors, professionals, and staff at all levels where media contact - and opportunities - are likely to arise. The Unit trains across the UK (including Northern Ireland) and Europe.

The Unit successfully conducts courses covering handling the media in general, with specific, practice-led tuition in working with journalists from, and being interviewed by, newspapers, magazines, radio and television.

It conducts -- in total confidence, naturally --media crisis-management courses for a wide range of organisations, and has helped to deliver positive media coverage of many important issues (and at least one of the most momentous announcements of the 20th century).
