After 20 years before the camera, Dennis Coath is one of the best known television faces in the Midlands. He has co-presented Central Television week-night news, current affairs and sports magazine programmes throughout the past decade, conducting countless live television interviews, and has worked on location throughout the world. Dennis began his career as a BBC News Trainee, working in the Corporation's London Newsroom. He later moved to the BBC local radio station in Leeds, and then on to BBC Radio Leicester, which was the first local station in the UK to go on-air. While in Leicester he presented a daily sequence programme, before deciding to focus on the station's sports output, later becoming Sports Editor. After joining Central Television, he also carried out voice-over work for numerous drama productions. In his spare time, Dennis has written three books, including a novel, "Deep Cover," in association with cricketer and TV pundit lan Botham. Dennis has been a regular course tutor with the TRTU for ten years, and his enthusiastic approach to the art of radio and television interviewing has made him one the Unit's most popular figures. |
